Movement For the Actor - Dec 14th @ 2PM
Movement for the Actor
Date & Time: Sunday, December 14th · 2:00–4:00 PM
Location: Artistic Motion (Triad International Ballet)
Instructor: Artistic Motion Faculty
Description:
Connect more deeply with your body and unlock physical freedom in Movement for the Actor, a transformative workshop designed to strengthen the mind-body connection that fuels authentic performance. Hosted in collaboration with the Triad International Ballet’s training center, this class invites actors to explore how movement, breath, and impulse inform storytelling.
Led by Artistic Motion’s professional dance faculty, participants will experience a three-part training progression that introduces the physical discipline and awareness of a dancer while keeping the actor’s emotional truth at the center.
Part I: A dancer’s warm-up — conditioning, posture, and alignment.
Part II: Improvisational movement — exploring impulse, tempo, and non-verbal storytelling inspired by Viewpoints and Chekhov techniques.
Part III: Choreography integration — short-term memory and collaboration, as actors learn and perform a brief sequence together.
Actors should wear athletic attire and bring socks or bare feet for floor work. Expect to move, sweat, and discover new tools for physical expressiveness. This workshop welcomes all levels, ages 16 and up, and is ideal for any actor looking to develop confidence, grace, and full-body awareness in performance.
Refund Policy:
Refunds for this workshop are available until December 1st, 2025. After this date, tuition is non-refundable. All participants must review the in-STUDIO Student Handbook for policies related to workshops, attendance, and conduct prior to registration.
