"The Art of the Closeup" Workshop - Dec 16th @ 6PM

$150.00

The Art of the Close-Up

Date & Time: Tuesday, December 16th @ 6:00–9:00 PM
Location: in-STUDIO · Unit A
Instructor: Lee Spencer

Description:
Join actor and instructor Lee Spencer (NBC, Netflix, CBS, AMC) for an advanced, camera-focused workshop exploring the precision required in an on-camera close-up. In this three-hour intensive, actors will work with two short scripts, on 2 film sets, that emphasize subtlety, emotional control, and authentic expression. Lee will guide participants through a structured warm-up, individual scene work, and a closing cooldown designed to help translate their strongest impulses into concise, readable choices that register powerfully on camera.

Scripts will be distributed four days prior to the workshop (December 12th) to allow for preparation. Actors should dress appropriately for their assigned role, noting that only the shirt and upper wardrobe will appear on camera. Participants may bring a small makeup bag to manage shine or blemishes under the close-up lens. Time permitting, Lee will offer playbacks and on-screen analysis to strengthen each actor’s technical awareness.

Optional Add-On:
Participants who wish to receive an unedited copy of their footage for use on Actors Access or their personal website may purchase this for $25 per clip, once class has ended. Actors must let us know they desire the footage by Dec 20th.

Refund Policy:
Refunds for this workshop are available until December 2nd, 2025. After this date, tuition is non-refundable. All participants must review the in-STUDIO Student Handbook for policies related to workshops, attendance, and conduct prior to registration.
