Spring 1 Short Film Series (6 Weeks)

March 8th – April 12th
Original Short Film: Vital Signs
INVITE ONLY

Spring 1 is a six-week short film training series designed for preparatory actors to explore the responsibilities of a leading role.

Each week, preparatory actors will perform their character’s scenes as we work through approximately ten scenes from the short film. This allows instructors to evaluate continuity, note application, preparation, and the demands of sustaining a lead performance.

Script analysis is the foundation of the program. Because the coach has contributed to the writing, feedback is rooted in story function, intention, and professional expectations. Actors are expected to prepare for the role as if they have been hired, arriving fully off-book and ready to work each week.

This session uses the original short film Vital Signs, which follows a character who volunteers for a medical trial in exchange for compensation, only to experience unsettling side effects from the experimental drug.

All tuition, refund, and attendance policies for this series are outlined in our student handbook and available online.

There are no makeup classes for this program, as full class recordings are provided for any missed sessions.

Registration without prior invitation is not permitted and will not be refunded. To request an audition or verify eligibility, please contact auditions@in-studio.org before enrolling.

Actors who have advanced from our Exploratory Program can join the Preparatory Program for their training. New actors to our studio should send a video and resume, clearly stating their previous training and current on-camera abilities. If the actor doesn't have a demo reel, they can send their latest self-taped performance to auditions@in-studio.org for review.
