The ability to work professionally on camera means knowing how to tell a story through more than just performance.
In Horror & Genre Anthology, Adult Professional actors will explore a series of original scenes spanning Horror, Sci-Fi, Thriller, and other genre-specific material. Each week, actors will step into new characters, new circumstances, and new technical challenges, developing the ability to quickly adapt their performance while working directly with the camera.
This guided Professional experience introduces actors to the technical demands of genre filmmaking and the ways camera, props, practical effects, and performance work together to tell a story.
Training will include:
Working with technical and unconventional camera angles
Reacting truthfully to something that is not there
Building and sustaining suspense across a full scene
Timing, sound, and how tension is actually constructed
Adapting performance to different genres and heightened storytelling styles
Using props, fake blood, and practical effects as part of the performance
Understanding how camera placement affects performance and storytelling
Quickly preparing new characters and circumstances from week to week
Actors are expected to participate, prepare between classes, remain curious, and demonstrate growth. Because each week introduces new material and technical challenges, actors should be prepared to adapt quickly and approach each scene as an opportunity to develop a specific on-camera skill.

There are no makeup classes for this program, as this class uses it’s own unique script.
